By Jan B.Roosa, Ph.D. For a long time, Mary had labeled herself as being indecisive. However, upon learning this Decision-making technique, she found a new sense of decisiveness and confidence. Teachable decision-making skills go unrecognized as one of the basics of family and community living, and of school and work performance. Perhaps, that is why, despite the tremendous demand and need for decision-making skills, it has never occurred to the "best and the brightest" to teach these abilities to solve significant social and individual problems. It is one of our society's flaws---only slightly educating us for fitness in a Culture of Democracy. People would make fewer impulsive decisions, lives could be better organized, useless conflict would be diminished, and our respect for each other, and our self-confidence would rise. Knowing how to make decisions and effectively making them are necessary---one without the other is not enough. Learning both the process and effective application are basic to enjoyable and reasonable living. ********** FOR THE COMPLETE TEXT AND A WALKTHROUGH OF HOW TO UNDERSTAND AND USE THIS SKILL, CLICK BELOW TO ORDER AND DOWNLOAD THE DECISION MAKING MODULE!
