.NET was first released by Microsoft in February, 2002. Since then, there have been many iterations that have removed bugs, improved functionality, addressed security vulnerabilities, and added features. The most recent version, .NET 7, was released on February 17, 2022.
The bottom line is that if you’re using an outdated version of .NET, you won’t be receiving any technical support or updates unless you’re using .NET Core 3.1 or later. As a result, your website and/or apps could experience:
